my answering machine wont work,how do I fix it?

I have a GE ATLinks USA digital message system that stopped working during a power surge. Model # 29875GE1-B. The light on it just blinks constantly. I press any of the buttons nothing happens. I have unplugged it and replugged it with no help. Could you please help? Thanks
