what is wrong with my 98 vectra 2.0 d 16v?

eml light on at around 60mph with a sudden loss of power it will then go out when the engine is turned off and back on but will flicker on and off driving round town.

Can anyone give me a clue whats going on with it

engine fault and the crawl home setting kicks in wen at 60 take it 4 a diagnostic check or do paperclip test yourself fault codes are available online with instructions but i dont know the web address sorry hope this helps
