Do I need to re-program Ford Mondeo keys?

My key has suddenly stopped working. I've replaced the battery once before and it worked fine. This time it still doesn't work. Is there something else I need to do? Re-program it?

If you take more than a few seconds to change the battery then you have to reprogram the locking system.
