Tizio Lamp - How do I determine which part to replace?

I thought I needed to replace the bulb on my Tizio 35 (it's about 15 yrs. old), but after replacement, same problem persists. Light turns on, stays on for approx. 10-15 seconds then goes out. I'd like to attempt repair myself. I was going to order a replacement head, but how can I determine if the head is the problem and not some other part? By the way, I know nothing about repairing lamps, but I'm a handy girl and thought I could try to do it myself. Thanks

maybe a stupid question but how do you open the base of a tizio lamp? I think the transformer needs to be replaced but I can't figure out a way to open the base.

thanks!

Hi Cin

I own a similar lamp for 20 years, I had the same problem. The problem is the contact inthe head, disconnect the lamp and clean the contact carefully. if it doesn't work, you will have to replace the lamp.

I would try changing the transformer.
