It means that the pump is not working or is blocked.

You need to open the flap on the front of the machine, and unscrew the covering cap (there will be ome water escape).

Once this is done, then clean the pump trap.

If this doesn't help, then you will have to clean the waste pipe.

Do do this:

Unscrew 2 screws on top back of machine, then remove the lid (push forward)

- Remove the bottom trim panel (unclip with a flat blade screwdriver at the left, middle and right top edge).
- Unscrew three T20 Torx head screws
- Unscrew two door lock screws
- remove the metal retaining ring from the door gasket (just lever this GENTLY over the gasket with a flat blade in the loop where the spring attaches (usually at teh bry bottom of the ring)).
- Remove the door gasket from the machine front by pulling gently toward you.
- Lower the front panel down slightly to release from two clips.

Now, the waste pipe will need to be detached from the slip securing it to teh back of the machine, and then from the clip inside (this is at the back left of the machine underneath the tub/drum.

Pull the waste pipe trough the hole in the back of the unit (there wil be some water escape, maybe a little, maybe a LOT but definatly some).

On the bottom of the pump there will be a hose clip, squeeze it with pliers, or mole grips, stilsons etc and remove.

Pull the pipe out, and get very wet.

Flush this pipe several times in both directions with tap water, Best to just push this over the end of a tap like a hose pipe, and flush it that way.

Make sure that this pipe is clean.

Now, as with Haynes, Refitting is reversal of removal.

Test.
