My Zanusi FL1082 washing machine suddenly stopped spining and draining. The wash cycles work but the machine no longer spins or drains water. What's gone wrong please and is there anything I can do or part it needs, for me to fix it?

Rafiq, Thank you for getting back to me so quickly with a response to my question on our Zanusi washing machine not spinning or draining. I checked the filter after draining the water manually from the drain pipe, and it was clear. Out of frustration and a desperate need to get washing again, my wife went out yesterday afternoon and bought a replacement - another Zanusi. Let's hope this model lasts the 10 years that the last one did! Thank you for your support. Andrew

Andrew you havnt mentioned if the drain pump runs or not it wont go into a spin for many reasons including the drain pump also when you start a new cycle does the drain pump run for a few secs and stop and then machine starts to take water in before beginning the cycle so come back with this info if you want your problem sorted its best to give a full explaination and describe accurately in steps what went wrong that can give a lot of clues aswell as to what the problem might be(for us to help you). also check the filter on your machine that can be clogged aswell.
