Is it possible to watch stored programmes on sky plus without a connection?

I have recently moved to an area that doesn't have Sky but have a disk full of programmes on my sky plus box. When I try to watch them I get two messages "searching for listings" and "no signal being received". I would have thought that the data is stored on the drive and would be able to be viewed but can't get past those messages. Any suggestions?

You cannot use the recording facility on a Sky+ box (including watching recorded stuff that you have stored) unless the box is connect to a dish and you have a Sky+ subscription.

BTW: "an area that doesn't have Sky". I think that have got that wrong. EVERYWHERE in the UK has Sky. I assume that you mean that you don't have a dish.
