AEG sensorlogic 50700 dishwasher salt/rinseaid runs out quickly?

The salt and rinseaid used to last for ages before the light came on but now I top it up and the light still seems to be on after one wash - why? also the little box where you put the dishwasher tabs the catch has broken - can I get spares for this?

you have to replace the whole unit if the plastic flap has broken.could have a faulty watersoftner hence you use alot of salt
