How can I fix my Sony Ericsson K850i??

Everytime i switch it on it asks me to insert the sim card, but guess what?? the cards already in. Can someone point me in the right direction for a free software download or somethng??Please??

Before you do that, try taking the sim out and wiping the gold contacts on it.
