help on how to fix a "door ajar red light and dinging"?

I own a 1994 Plymouth Grand Voyager. The "dinging alert for a door ajar" is on even when the car is turned off. Also the "red light that reads 'door ajar' stays lit when the car is operating.

How can I fix these problems? I believe the 'constant dinging' is taking juice from my battery. Appreciate any help you can offer, and thank you for having this service available to those of us who need it.

One of the shut of switches inside the door jam on the driver or passenger's side is broken. It should look like a pop up timer, that has gone off, when the door is in the open position. But if the button looks like the timer has not , meaning the outside sleave is even with the top of the button. This Broken one. Test shut all doors, press the button with hand look at indicator. You will find the culprit.

There is a door jam switch that is inop .....on some models its a plunger on the front of door in body that is pushed in when the door is closed ......on both doors and sliding door and rear door .....will need to pull each one till the chime quits ....
on newer models the switch is incorparated in the door handle lock assemble ....
