when i switch on the screen says "access" the lens goes in and out 3 times then it bleeps and says turn off and on again, when i do this it happens again, i have been able to access the menu occasionally but not fo long, as soon as i try to take a pic it starts playing up again.

Have you tried a new battery in it? my son had a similar problem and we eventually found that the battery wasn't holding enough charge
