After travelling the 45 miles to my home it will tick for a few minutes and then stops. Any advice on what to do.

you did remove the pendulum BEFORE traveling didn't you,? if not you have altered the pendulum pitch ,or your floor angle is different level/pitch to your grans, its so much easier to get a wall mounted clock going .yours will be trial and error of adding packing under one side of the base to alter the pitch from tic,tic to tic tock tic tock
