How can i fix my zafira 2.0 d?

When reving the car it sometimes takes over & rev's itself all the way to maximum rev's even after the ignition key is removed, resulting in lots of grey smoke from the exhaust ?

I had almost identical problem. My fuel tank had to be replaced for MOT, and after that the problem disappeared. Sorry can't help any more, as I'm not mechanically trained.

Yes its a turbo diesel, i've had i checked on a computer but it seems to give different faults each time, oil level is ok, but now it seems low on power, as if the turbo isn't working and the fault light seems to come on and off when ever it feels like it, any ideas would be apreciated, it really is doing my head in now.

Check that the oil level isn't overfull - diesel engines can consume their own lubricant, and rev until they self destruct.
