kenwood kdw12st3a won't select program?

I have a kenwood kdw12st3a dishwasher (just out of warranty grrr). When turning on I am unable to select a programme. It beeps and shows "---" but nothing happens when selecting the program button. I have checked the door catch, seems fine. Any ideas please?
