Plastic overlay on MDF moulded doors & draw fronts is lifting. I have removed plastic overlay to reveal a whole load of wax on MDF , I have removed as much wax as I can by scraping but now need to remove the residual so that I can paint them. Any help greatfully received.

i don't think the plastic overlay is stuck down with wax otherwise everybodys would come off in warm weater.It is probably some sort of glue like evo-stick and wiil need a solvent to remove the residue.if it were wax then a hairdryer would melt it.
