corsa steering?

Hi
I have a 1998 Corsa 1.0 The steering is pulling to the left, and it has failed it's MOT. They say the power steering pump has failed. Reading the internet that doesn't seem correct. It is the steering column, or the sensor that is likley to be wrong?
Thanks

What has it actually failed the MOT on?
I think your age of car will have a belt driven power steering hydraulic pump, the column/sensor issues are on later models with electric power steering.
