remote central locking?

changed battery in remote central locking for hyundai coupe sport 2002 1.6 light on remote is on but doesn't work

needs recoding to do this you have open the bonnet and drivers door then hold both buttons down on the fob for a few seconds the light light on the dash will stay on now release the buttons and now press unlock the flasher will now flash and it now should work!!
