Lawn Mowers?

I have a Countax C600H ride on mower which needs a new starter motor. Countax want £250 plus vat! Does anybody know of an equivelent which might work and be a lot less expensive?

it is easy to fit a starter motor to a honda 16hp engine, 6 bolts and the engine cowling/cover lift off, then couple of wires on the starter motor, 2 more bolts and the starter is off.

Honda Engine year 2004. Have been quoted £293 incl vat for a new starter motor. Somewhere else quoted £189 incl vat. Fitting the thing is going to be another £200 apparently! Help???

Its a honda engine. I have been quoted £165 plus vat for an equivelent Starter motor for it which is better than Countax quoted but the labour to fit it and get it all back together again is estimated to twice that! So to replace a starter motor is now going to cost £400! Is that fair? Seems very expensive to me. Thanks

What engine? Briggs or Honda?
