hotpoint ffm70 food defrost alert light on?

the food defrost alert is always on.
no apparent problem with refridgeration and freezing though - is there someway to reset?

Try putting a thin cloth over the light and press hard with a small object. I used a dinner knife handle.
The switch needs a hard push without damaging it.
