I have changed the door lock mechanism on my Whirlpool AWZ650 dryer twice already (in two years) and it has just failed again after three months. The plastic mechanism which screws to teh front panel gets distorted - I think because of leaking hot air through the door seal. Is there a method of adjusting how tightly the door shuts. I thought there might be a problem with the door seal but it looks in good condition

First it could be the child lock (but i doubt it). Sounds just like warp problem I have been having. It can easily be replaced but what causes it?

I to am having the same problem having been taping my door shut with tape for this last week.! I too thought it was the seal and I do believe its the Lock mechanism.? Although I dont actualy know wether its worped having not replaced it before.? for this last week theres been a 1/2cm gap allowing hot air to escape and create condensation on the wall.
