really good breadmaker...dough not rising....kneading it enough? can't tell if its going thru all cycles....bakes it in a lump

Out of date yeast or flour could cause this problem, check the freshness dates. Also make sure all measurements are accurate to the recipe. Too much sugar or water, as well as water that is too hot, could cause this problem as it kills the yeast. If all of those are OK then the machine may be running too hot during the rise.

P.S. - Always put liquids in first, dry ingredients in next, and the yeast last. There should be no contact with the liquids and the yeast until mixing begins. This is especially important when using the Delay Bake option.
