sky hd box problems?

i have to constantly reboot my sky box i keep getting no satellite signal being received message with various different fault codes the dish has been checked and is ok thebox isthompson

Just upgraded to a Sky + HD box with the 'own installation'. Everything seems to be working off the main TV, except the other TV's in the house now cannot see the Sky channel and the terrestrial channels are all 'fuzzy', as though they have no aerial signal.

Kids are killing me to get it fixed and have heard that it may be a setting within the 'secret' Sky 'Settings'

Help anyone??

Sky hd box after entering the Sky Planner or tv guide and press the red anytime button the Sky box powers down..... Any thoughts?

you only have one dish input cable you need two. Get some one to install a second one and it will be fixed. Look at the back of the box. it says dish input one and two nothing to do with your harddrive

i recently replaced my standard box with a sky+ hd from ebay. i paired it up by calling sky. now the problem is i can view all the channels but when i try to record a program and watch another channel it says no signal is being recieved on all channels except for the one recording. when i stop recording its back to normal. i can view all the channels. i tried resetting and everything but still nothing..

Thompson Sky HD boxes are known for this fault and many others due to Power Supply Unit (PSU) faults.

If you check the signal strength in service when the fault happens does one feed show ok and the other shows no signal.

I had this problem and repaired the PSU with spare parts brought as a pack from satcure.co.uk look for the kit RELKIT33j also loads of advice on this problem on avforums.com

It sounds as if your hard-drive is failing. If in warranty call sky and they will replace the whole unit. There is no magic cure except replacing the unit or the hard-drive inside.
