dvd won't load discs?

How can I fix my Samsung DVD/VCR combo player #3650? It was working fine, but now it won't load any discs. I can hear it spinning intermittantly. HELP! It's not even a year old.

My Broksonic, same problem.
Spoke to TV engineer this am. Either laser needs cleaning or laser is knackered, in which case, he said buy a new machine, as it is expensive to replace lasers.
Is it not still under guarantee ?

try cleaning laser pickup, i just done mine with surgical spirit on cotton bud, not sure if thats ok, but it works fine now.

Make sure your discs don't have any fingerprints on the silvered side. DVD error correction will often cope with a severe scratch but fail to the slightest fingerprint.

If it isn't yet a year old, take it back to where it was once brought. For it should still be under the warranty period for which it was sold with. Obviously you would need the proof of purchase, reciept or visa bill statement.
