Dyson DC04 (silver/lime) drive belt breaks?

Why does the Dyson DC04 (silver/lime) drive belt break each time I vacuum over the fringe of my rugs? Never happened with the Electrolux that it replaced. I'm spending a fortune on drive belts.

If you have rugs and different floor types you should have bought a model with a clutch your only cure is to be more carefull when doing your rugs.
