hi cindy is your freezer a frost free model and is the freezer the bottom half of the unit ,if so the freezer has a fan inside and this blows cold air in to the fridge compartment(only when freezer has reached it temperature),on the inside off the freezer on back wall is where the fan is located behind the plate ,you should hear it if it is working.if not that would be a good place to start.
