how do I get my grill on?

I have moved to a new house and I have a Cannon Camberley cooker, however I am unable to get the grill on. I have tried to remove anything in the small oven, but the switch still stays locked.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I did ring the manufacturers, but they were unable to help as they did not have a technical advice office. Typical.

I am not a technician but I had the same problem myself. The problem is that the knob for the top oven and grill are the same. Solution if you carefully pull out all the knobs and then carefully ease away the front control panel cover you will note that there is a large black disc under the knob for the top oven/grill. When rotated this either moves the rod to the left hand side of this either forwards or back. The rod is spring loaded and if the spring is worn it will not return to it starting position resulting in the button getting stuck. To solve the problem either replace the spring or do as I did and increase the tension in the spring by placing a small washer or nut over the end of the spring. problem solved. (the spring is fairly easy to remove and care should be taken when doing) If any problems or your not 100% sure always consult a professional.
