Volvo 1997 V40 lights?

Hi, the lights on my V40 will not go off when the ignition is turned off. This happens with the lighs set on any of the three settings. Can anyone help please,Iam having to disconnect the baattery all of the time. Thanks.Dave

the problem could be the switch or the plug on the back of the switch , normally on v40&s40s,if you pull the plug out from the back of the switch the lights will come on.
