How can i fix my scantronic 9448 home alarm system?

The electrics tripped out in my house and the alarm system went beserk - firstly the internal alarm noise, then the external alarm noise, eventually i managed to stop it by entering my user code - but it took loads of attempts. Now the Zone lights are permanently on except 1 of them. The mains power light is on. The entry/exit zone light is flashing. The tamper loop light is flashing. My neighbour said I might need a new battery? If so where do I get one? Many thanks to anyone who can help.

I have encountered a similar problem this week. I have replaced the battery but the 'tamper loop is broken' light is illuminated and having read the manual I cannot work out how to clear this fault. Any advice would be really appreciated. Thank you.

You definitely need a new battery - type 12v 1.9amps (you may be offered 1.8amps or 2 amps, both are ok and the manufacturer doesn't matter)
Take the measurements of the existing battery and go to Maplins or your local burglar alarm shop (yellow pages) and they will sell you one for about £20.
Replace the battery and things should settle down.
