random re-starts?

I have XP and every 5 minutes it re-starts. I just installed:
Asus P4S8X-MX
P4 Intel 1.6 GHz
nVidia 128 mb video card
1 gig memory
soundblaster sound card
I thought any hardware issues, XP did a fair job of fixing them

even though you've bought all new stuff you might have to update the m/boards bios by whats known as flashing.make a boot up disc (floppy) if you can get access to the internet on another pc get the latest bios version fron the board maunfacturer save it onto the same floppy put it in the pc and switch on and follow instructions .but be careful flashing the bios is not for the faint hearted installing the wrong bios will render your board useless. good luck.

Xp is setup by default to reboot when a fatal crash happens
this could be due to all manner of reasons from hardware to dodgy drivers to dodgy applications.
if you can get the computer to run in 'safe mode'
press f8 when windows starts to get to safe mode
then got to control panel, system, advanced, startup&recovery, settings button.
then deselect automatically restart tickbox
xp will then give you a bsod which should help to identify whats going wrong
