I have no voltage from a ceiling light socket in one room in the house?

I have no voltage reading from a ceiling light socket in one room in the house. Plug sockets work. What can I do restore electrical power to ceiling socket.

it could be a faulty switch

I had a similar fault many years ago. It was caused by a loose wire in one of the other 'light sockets' (ceiling roses) .The power passes through each ceiling rose in turn and on to the next one, so a loose wire can cause a fault on the next one in the line. Switch off the power and go round all ceiling roses checking for loose wires.
If in doubt, call an electrician !
