My Diesel Particualte Filter (DPF) has melted and blocked exhaust and I am looking to get an idea of how much this will cost. One mechanic i know will not touch it as he does not know much about it and has never replaced one. As it has blocked exhaust it seems pretty bad and I am worried it is going to cos t a fortune to repair this on my 53 plate Toyota Avensis.

This AA document says...

"If warnings are still ignored and soot loading continues to increase then the most likely outcome will be a new DPF costing around £1000. "
