my vauxhall vectra c key fob does not work in cold weather?

my vauxhall key fob does not work in cold weather, and when i use the actual key to unlock my alarm goes off when i open the door, any suggestions

terry, its just a ball ache tho when alarm goes off every time, and CHUMLEY do you not think ive tried that, it doesnt need a new battery.

The alarm should shut off when you turn the ignition on.
