If your not used to re winding starter springs do not attempt it, buy a new one in a cassette (pre wound) it will fit easily then,however To re fit an old spring you have to hook the outer end into the cover and slowly wind the spring in, coil at a time with your fingers,keeping your thumb on the coils you have already wound, extreme caution should be used. wearing saftey goggles is vital, it realy gives your fingers and thumb a good work out.Good luck
