I can't erase a caller ID from my GE model 29269GE1-A. I disconnected it from the wall, and removed the batteries for several hours. However, when I hook it all back up again, the caller ID still shows a call. When it says Erase?, I don't know what to do next. I have tried pushing every button, but to no avail. I will be ever so grateful for any help.

hold erase button for 3 or 4 seconds...maybe this will work.
