Why are there 11 strikes at 1 o'clock?

I have a pendulum clock with a strange behavior.
At 1 o'clock it strikes 11 times.
All the other hourly chimes are just OK, 2 times to 2 o'clock, 4 at 4, 9 at 9, you get the image.
Oh, and it is one strike at half hours.
But why that issue with 1 o'clock?
