may also be faulty fan or gas valve. get an engineer in to find the fault, it'll be cheaper. may be best to try british gas & ask for a fixed price repair (around £165), the gas valve is quite expensive (around £100) and the fan even more so (over £200). also if the fault isn't repaired then you have a guarantee that there's no cost if they have to come back again.
