Warming plate surface peeling?

How do I resurface-reteflon the warming plate on my Delonghi. It is peeling/chipping and the surface is getting bare.

I cleaned with baking powder. Sprayed some high heat paint into a plastic container and brushed it on. Don't know how long it will last...especially since my husband is the only one that uses the coffee maker...but right now it looks great!
