Diverter Valve Costs?

I have just been quoted £300 to fit a new diverter valve onto my vailiant 242/282 boiler. Does this sound about right?

I've just been quoted £307 too for a diverter valve replacement. To say I was gobsmacked is an understatement. How can they justify such a high charge for both the product and labour?

about £110 to buy,ask them if you can get away with just the diaphram, which is inside the valve, much much cheaper.

I've just fitted a Diverter Value onto my Vaillant VUW 242E, I ordered it from Keeptheheaton.com cost £99 inc VAT & Delivery. Search for part number '01-1289'. It took me 1.5 hours as it was the first time I had done this. A pro should be able to fit it in less than 1 hour. Usually they charge around £55 / hour. Make sure they don't try and charge you a call out fee on top.
