HEATING?

I have a Ravenheat combi boiler 820/20, when just on water and i run hot water tap its cold, but when on heating and water and i run the hot tap i get hot water, CAN ANYONE HELP!!!

the microswitch or diaphragm that tell the boiler a tap has been opened have failed and need replacing
