If I turn the thermostat down the boiler turns off?

Hello, Can anyone please help.

I have a Worcester 25si boiler & would like to turn the thermostat down however, even if i do this by a small amount (even 3 degrees) it turns off.

Any idea of what the problem may be?

Thank you

Thank you! it is the boiler stat. However what ever the conditions if the dial is turned even just slightly it switches off.

are you talking about the boiler stat or the room stat if its the room stat then its probably faulty if its the boiler stat then that only controls the boiler temperature and can turn the boiler off if set too low even if the rooms are freezing

Thank you for yourn reply however....No, the room can be various temperatures even minus 5degrees(like this week) & the boiler still turns off.

surely by YOU turning the thermostat down the room must now be too warm, The thermostat is doing it job, the boiler will turn back on when the temp in the room COOLS by the couple of degrees, if not why bother with fitting a thermostat in the central heating system.
