lens error 0x0311 pentax optio E70L ?

I think the lens got sand in it while i was at the beach, and now the screen shows up blurry, then turns black and says 'lens error 0x0311'. Any ideas on how to fix it??

I had this error except that the telescopic bit would just close itself so I held it open when it was trying to shut,gave it a wiggle and hey presto, its fixed.

try turning the lens as you zoom, this will free whatever it is thats stuck, it may take several attempts. I have just got round to doing mine after 1 year after it got stuck and it has worked

I hate this I took mine to the beach to and I think the sand is the problem thank god for the internet and people that know how to work out the problems hahaha Thanks for the help guys!!!

I know this is gunna sound weird, but you do have sand in your camera, or dust or something.
turn the camera on then lightly jingle the lense with your hand. then when it turns back off, just smack it a little bit. dont hit it with anything, just hit it with your hand to move the sand out of place :) it works, i always have to do it.
