My P reg fiesta has locking problems. I could open the drivers door from the inside but not the outside. Although not ideal I could live with it but now the door has somehow locked whilst open and won't close. I can't drive it holding the door (too difficult I tried) and live miles from a town. Can anyone suggest how to get the door to close?

look at door latch and put something like a screwdriver/key or similar into latch where striker go 's and whilst pulling inner door handle fiick latch open[its probably a very small spring broken on internal mechanism],outer handle fault may be broken handle itself.
