thats the dead bolt - its the wrong key!
either that or the car has once been broken into and the barrels have dropped

You will have to take the door panel off,there will probably be a large metal ring around the lock that fastens it to the door skin,it's snapped or loosened off,either way it's door panel off and have a look.
