power craft pressure washer?

when you pull the trigger all you get is a pulsating action is there any way round this problem my father has a karcher and that does the same so it must be a common fault does anyone know how to fix it please

mine is the same, there is a water leak on the inlet where the powercraft hose screws on.............fix that and it should be ok.
