Depends type of wall when you say soft do you mean dry wall ie; plasterboard/placo on frame ?
If so spring toggle fixings is one type search in search enging box enter sprng toggles or hollow wall fixings. or www.leofixings.com in orange frame popup click fixings then fourth on top pictures row cavity fixings.
