Problem using Garter carriage with KH965?

I have not used my machine for over 6 years now but when I finally got round to using it I have discovered that when only selecting 100 needles it knits all right on an all over pattern for approx 10 rows and then seems to decide to put other non working needles into play. What can I do to fix this.

Replaced sponge bar and a few kneedles now working perfectly. just got to learn how to use again

Hi Carol,
Have you checked the sponge bar? After not using your machine for so long it probably needs replacing. It can cause all sorts of problems if it is worn out - there should be about 1/4" of foam above the metal.
