how can i fix my blowers and heater on 2001 ford focus?

when putting my heaters on turn the dial and nothing happens no blowers no heat

This seems to be a common problem with the mk1 focus. The problem lies at the thermal resistor pack. It seems to blow v. easily leaving only off or max working.
