The likelihood is that the Cartidge Slot is damaged. Bent pins may be visible by viewing the slot.
If you don't want to spend money repairing it then I would suggest you start using GBA games. They should still work.
The repair would require purchase and installation of a Cartridge Slot. Some soldering skill is required.
From a Repairer the cost can be from £25 - £45, subject to the repairer.
