Replacing Xenon bulb with Halogen bulb in bathroom?

Can you replace a 50W Xenon bulb (bayonet base) with a 50W Halogen bulb (same base) in a bathroom vanity fixture even though the fixture has a sticker that says "Not intended for use with halogen bulbs"?

I would suggest the sticker is a reasonable indication but fit it if you want, then stand back and watch the vanity unit burn!!!!!!!
