My Toshiba V632UK VHS [I know its old hasn't been used for a long time ,living in spain bought it second hand ] records prog But plays back with no picture, sound only.However fast Fwd or Rewd picture appears.
Any suggestions appreciated.

try cleaning the heads , unpluge it , take the top off , , put a tape in , you will see the heads comming to meet the tape, so you know were the heads are , take the tape back out . use cotton ear buds, to wipe the heads , dip them into white spirits, to wipe the heads , but dry heads off with a new ear bud , see how you get on , ( be carefull )with the power,,,,,
